Chalkhouse Nursery, a beloved family-run childcare provider, is thrilled to announce the opening of its newest location, Chalkhouse Nursery – Waterside, in the picturesque setting of Thames Valley Park. Scheduled to open its doors in January 2025, this new nursery promises to deliver the same high standards of care and nurturing environment that families have come to expect from Chalkhouse.
Chalkhouse Nursery has built a strong reputation with its two established and popular settings in Lower Earley and Kidmore End. As a small, independent, family-run nursery, Chalkhouse stands out from larger chains by offering a personal touch and a deep commitment to the well-being and development of each child. The new Thames Valley Park location aims to extend this ethos to more families in the area.
One of the cornerstones of Chalkhouse Nursery’s philosophy is the belief in the benefits of outdoor play. The new Waterside location, with its large enclosed outdoor play area and proximity to the Thames riverside and a nearby nature reserve, will provide children with ample opportunities to explore and engage with nature. Regular Forest School sessions and nature walks will be a significant part of the curriculum, fostering children’s social, emotional, and physical development.
Chalkhouse Nursery – Waterside will operate five days a week, 51 weeks a year, from Monday to Friday, 07:30 to 18:00. The nursery will cater to children aged 0-5, offering unlimited funded places to ensure that high-quality childcare is accessible to all families. The team at Chalkhouse is currently renovating the building to create a welcoming and stimulating environment, with visits and show-arounds set to begin in September/October 2024.
